Heal from narcissistic abuse and come home to yourself
Narcissistic and emotional abuse can leave you doubting your own mind, walking on eggshells, and wondering who you are now. I help adults heal from these relationships by treating the impact for what it is: relational trauma. With gentle, evidence-based care, you can quiet the self-doubt, loosen the hold of the past, and rebuild trust in yourself.

Common effects
Many survivors of narcissistic abuse describe…
These experiences are not character flaws. They are understandable responses to a relationship that kept you off balance.
Second-guessing yourself
After repeated gaslighting, it can be hard to trust your own memory, feelings, or judgment.
Walking on eggshells
Staying on high alert, scanning for shifts in mood, and bracing for the next conflict, even after the relationship ends.
A pull you can't explain
Missing the person or feeling drawn back despite the hurt. This trauma bond is a nervous system response, not a weakness.
Shame and self-blame
A harsh inner voice that sounds a lot like theirs, telling you it was your fault or that you're too much.
Losing your sense of self
Having shaped yourself around someone else's needs for so long that your own wants and voice feel far away.
Anxiety, numbness, or exhaustion
Trouble sleeping, racing thoughts, shutting down, or feeling drained in ways that are hard to put into words.
Why I treat it as trauma
This isn't about labeling them. It's about healing you.
You don't need a diagnosis for the other person to deserve support. What matters is how the relationship affected you. Ongoing manipulation, criticism, and unpredictability teach the nervous system that closeness isn't safe and that your own perceptions can't be trusted.
Because these patterns live in the body and in the protective parts of you that learned to survive, insight alone often isn't enough. Trauma-focused therapy helps those old alarms finally settle.
How we'll work together
Gentle, evidence-based, and paced for you
Safety & stabilization
We start by building steadiness: grounding skills, understanding your nervous system, and creating space where you feel believed. Nothing moves faster than you're ready for.
EMDR therapy
EMDR helps the brain and body reprocess painful memories, like specific arguments, put-downs, or moments of betrayal, so they lose their intensity and feel more in the past.
IFS-informed therapy
Internal Family Systems helps you understand the parts of you that formed to survive, like the people-pleaser, the self-critic, or the part that still hopes they'll change, and helps them heal.
I'm trained in IFS-informed EMDR, which blends both approaches so protective parts feel respected and processing can happen at a pace your system trusts.
What healing can look like
Over time, many clients find they can…
- Trust their own perceptions and decisions again
- Feel calmer in their body and less on guard
- Loosen the grip of the trauma bond
- Quiet the inner critic and replace shame with compassion
- Set boundaries without guilt or fear
- Reconnect with their interests, voice, and sense of self
- Recognize red flags and choose healthier relationships
- Feel like themselves again, or maybe for the first time

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Does the other person need to be diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder?
No. Our focus is on you and how the relationship affected you, not on diagnosing anyone else. Whether it was a partner, parent, boss, or friend, if the relationship left you feeling confused, diminished, or unsafe, that impact deserves care.
What if I'm still in the relationship?
You're welcome here wherever you are. We can work on clarity, grounding, boundaries, and safety planning at your pace. If you ever feel physically unsafe, the National Domestic Violence Hotline offers free, confidential support 24/7 at 1-800-799-7233, or text START to 88788.
How long does recovery take?
It's different for everyone. Some people notice relief within a few months, while longer or more complex experiences may take more time. We'll check in regularly about your goals and how you're feeling.
Do you take insurance?
Yes. I'm in network with Aetna, Cigna, BCBS of Oklahoma, UnitedHealthcare, Carelon Behavioral Health, Curative, Ascension SmartHealth, and Providence Health Plan (availability varies by state). Self-pay is $150 per session. See fees & insurance →
Can EMDR and IFS really be done online?
Yes. Both work well over secure video. You just need a private space, a stable internet connection, and to be located in Oklahoma or Texas during sessions.
